Dozens of Haitians were killed after the bus in which they were travelling reportedly plunged into a river.
According to a media report, the vehicle overturned as it crossed a bridge over the river Glace in the southwestern province of Grand-Anse.
Eyewitnesses said many of those who died were swept away by the raging waters, while others became trapped in the sunken vehicle.
The survivors are said to have escaped by climbing onto the roof of the bus.
The river was swollen by rain from Tropical Storm Fay, which passed through Haiti on its way to Cuba and Florida.
