Lerone Clarke in 100m men’s final

Commonwealth champion Lerone Clarke will represent Jamaica in today’s final of the men’s 100-metres at the 2011 Pan American Games in Guadalajara, Mexico.
Clarke booked his spot after winning his semi-final heat in 10.17 seconds yesterday.
Jamaica’s other representative, Oshane Bailey was disqualified in semi-final two following a false start.
The final is scheduled to start at 6.20 p.m.
The Jamaican pair of Sheryl Morgan and Rushell Clayton did not progress in the women’s 400-metre hurdles.
Morgan was fifth in Heat One in 59.59, while Clayton was sixth and last in Heat Two. She clocked a pedestrian one minute 03.44.
Meanwhile, after five events in the men’s decathlon, Jamaican Maurice Smith is leading with 4370 points. Claston Bernard, the other Jamaican, is eighth with 3853 points.
The decathlon continues this afternoon at 1 p.m. with the 110-metre hurdles.
