Zimbabwe wins first ODI tour
Malcolm Waller hit 99 not out to lead hosts Zimbabwe to a one-wicket win over New Zealand in a dramatic finish to the third and final One Day International in Bulawayo today.
The 99 represents Walker’s highest One Day score, and Zimbabwe chased down more than 300 for the first time in a One Day International to overhaul New Zealand’s imposing 328 for five.
Zimbabwe won with a ball to spare and it was their first win of the tour.
Walker combined for a 112-run partnership with Elton Chigumbura 47 after Zimbabwe were 183 for five.
Captain Brendan Taylor supported well with 75 and Hamilton Masakadza hit 36.
Jacob Oram ended with three wickets for New Zealand.
Earlier, Ross Raylor 119 and Kane Williamson 100 not out made centuries for New Zealand, who won the series 2-1.
