Bermuda’s Premier Paula Cox has reportedly sacked two cabinet ministers and a senator.

CANA quoted media reports as saying a government insider reported that

Transport Minister Terry Lister, Estates Minister Neletha Butterfield and Education spokeswoman in the Upper House, Senator LaVerne Furbert, are to be replaced.

Speaking at the Progressive Labour Party annual conference at the weekend, the Bermudan premier strongly hinted at a cabinet reshuffle.

The government insider said that all three had been asked to go as Cox, who is also Finance Minister, prepares her team for the next general election due in 2012.

Neither of the two ministers could be immediately contacted for comment on Tuesday while Furbert declined comment.

There has been no official statement from the ruling Progressive Labour Party.
