Guyana: Civil servants get across-the-board increases

The president of Guyana Bharrat Jagdeo has approved across-the-board increases in salaries for all government employees retroactive to January 2011.



A release from the Government Information Agency stated that the increases will be payable to all public servants and members of the disciplined services.



It said teachers will get a three percent across the board increase with effect from plus the five percent increase under a previous heads of agreement.
