Bolt eyes three gold medals
Red-hot Jamaican sprinter Usain Bolt, who crowned himself king of the sprint world this morning at the Beijing Olympics, will take a day off tomorrow to celebrate his 22nd birthday.
Bolt is now eying a third gold medal in Beijing. However, he said he would bypass tomorrow’s first round of the 4 X100-metre relay to celebrate his birthday.
The lanky sprinter said he would continue to do great things when he hit the track again.
Minutes after Bolt’s historic performance, Jamaica achieved its fourth gold medal when Melaine Walker snatched victory in the women’s 400-metre hurdles, setting a new Olympic and national record.
Walker’s coach at St. Jago High School, Raymond ‘KC’ Graham said the gold medal was not a surprise.
Walker clocked 52.64 seconds for the gold medal.
The country’s medal count now stands at seven including four gold and three silver.
