All set for JMMC/Petcom International Rally
Six overseas competitors are down to contest the 2011 Jamaica Millennium Motoring Club/Petcom International Stages Rally this weekend.
The overseas entries are coming from Ireland, Scotland, Barbados and Trinidad and Tobago.
This year’s Rally is shaping up to be quite interesting, as the organisers have made changes to some of the stages.
The two-day rally begins on Saturday morning at 8.00 at the Petcom Station in Angels, Spanish Town.
The final day of the rally starts in Bog Walk at 7.30 a.m. Then at 1.30 p.m.
the rally heads to Bernard Lodge in St Catherine, a stage that was last used in the 1990s. There will also be a Downtown, Kingston stage, starting at 4 p.m.
Top driver Jamaican Kyle Gregg thinks the drivers will face a lot of challenges along the course because of the changes.
Gregg, who has already sealed the 2011 Rally Sports Drivers’ Championship, says his focus is to finish the two-day rally.
Kyle Gregg, who competes in the J.A. 2 Class, will be driving a Honda Civic S.I.R. Gregg’s co-driver is Peter Clarke.
The official opening takes place on Friday.
