T&T police launch video investigation
The Trinidad and Tobago police have launched an investigation to identify persons involved in an internet-circulated video, which contains threats on the lives of police officers.
Acting Police Commissioner, James Philbert, said he has seen the musical video on YouTube, showing a group of men performing before a police post in the volatile east west corridor.
Mr. Philbert said the video is cause for concern.
In the video, the singers mention the name of executed gang leader Merlin ‘Cudjoe’ Allamby, whom they say had to die because he sold out the youths to law enforcement officers.
Allamby, 35, was shot dead on July 22 in a hail of bullets while visiting a murder scene.
No one has been held for his murder.
For this year, 350 persons have been murdered, compared with just under 220 for the similar period last year.
