Three victories for Jamaica
Olympic 200-metre champion Veronica Campbell Brown won the women’s 100 metres at the Zagreb Grand Prix in Croatia yesterday.
Campbell Brown won in 1.10 seconds ahead of the American pair of Marshevet Hooker, 11.19, and Me’Lisa Barber 11.34.
There were two other Jamaican victories at the meet.
Nesta Carter won the men’s 100 metres in 10.23 ahead of Rodney Martin of the USA, 10.41. Jamaica Ainsley Waugh was third, also in 10.41.
Dorian Scott won the men’s shot put with a throw of 20.31 metres.
The Jamaican pair of Ainsley Waugh, 20.77, and Christopher Williams 20.81 was second and third in the men’s 200 metres.
In the women’s 100-metre hurdles American Dawn Harper won in 12.65 seconds, beating Jamaican Delloreen Ennis London by .05 seconds.
In the men’s 110-metre hurdles, Jamaican Richard Phillips clocked 13.66 to finish second behind Cuban Dayron Robles, who won in 13.20. Maurice Wignall of Jamaica was third in 13.75.
