WESTERN BUREAU:
Pulse Investments' Kingsley Cooper has been named chairman of the new Entertainment and Advisory Board, which falls under the Ministry of Tourism and Entertainment.
A lawyer by profession, Cooper took the bold step to provide something that was missing from the menu of entertainment offerings, starting a number of concerts in the 1980s.
Cooper's appointment was announced by tourism and entertainment minister, Dr. Wykeham McNeill.
The Entertainment and Advisory Board has been tasked to:
*Strengthen public-private partnership with a view to maximizing the contribution of the industry to economic and social development
*Provide advice to the Ministry regarding key issues and strategies, specifically the development of an Entertainment industry policy
*Facilitate the engagement of entertainment industry stakeholders in the policy-making process.
The new advisory board is expected to meet within the next two weeks.
