The Free Syrian Army (FSA), rebels have given the government of President Bashar al-Assad a 48 hour deadline to observe a United Nation ceasefire plan.

A spokesman for the rebels says they want the peace plan implemented by noon Friday.

Failing this he says the FSA will no longer consider itself bound by the provisions of the plan.

The warning from the rebels came the same day UN observers confirmed the discovery of 13 shooting victims whose hands and feet were bound.

The peace plan which was brokered by UN special envoy Kofi Annan calls for government forces to implement an immediate ceasefire and return to their barracks.
