Premiership club Portmore United and Burger King have entered into a $1million sponsorship deal for the new season of the National Premier League football competition, which kicks off on Sunday.

The deal was signed this morning at a Press Conference at the Burger King restaurant in Braeton, Portmore.

The sponsorship means that the defending champions will receive cash and meals from Burger King Restaurants throughout the 2008 to 2009 season.

Portmore United chairman Wayne Sinclair said the commitment from Burger King will help to offset the costs and nutritional needs of the club.

The two bodies will also work together to establish some critically needed community outreach programmes in the community.
