JHF squad named

The Jamaica Hockey Federation (JHF) has selected an Under 21 men’s squad to represent the country at the ninth Pan American Junior Championships and Junior Hockey World Cup qualifier.
The tournament will be held in Trinidad and Tobago from October 17 to 26.
Leading the 18-member squad are Lorenzo Burke and Giovanni Gordon of Sharpe’s Rebels Hockey Club, Jamaica College’s Fabian McGregor and Orville McTaggart of Kingston College.
All four players are members of the national senior squad.
Kimani Airey, Fabian DePass, Collin Morrison, Oraine Reid and Akeem Williams also represent Sharpe’s Rebel Hockey Club.
The team departs on October 12 and will compete in Zone ‘A’ along with defending champions Argentina, hosts T&T, USA and Puerto Rico.
The top three teams qualify for the Junior World Cup to be held next year in Singapore and Malaysia.
The tournament will also serve as preparations for the Senior Pan American Cup Championship, which will take place in Chile next March.
