Portmore defeat Rivoli

Striker Carlington Smith scored two goals to lead defending champions Portmore United to a 2-0 victory over promoted Rivoli United in their Digicel National Premier League opener at Ferdie Neita Park yesterday.



Also scoring opening victories were Boys’ Town, Sporting Central Academy and Harbour View.



Boys’ Town edged Arnett Gardens 1-0 in time added on at Collie Smith Drive, Sporting Central Academy beat Reno 2-1 at Brancourt in Clarendon and Harbour View hammered Village United 4-0 in a late game at the Harbour View Mini Stadium.



Over at Edward Seaga Stadium, Tivoli Gardens and newcomers Meadhaven played to a 1-1 draw, while Waterhouse and St. Georges also played to a 1-1 draw, this at Drewsland.
