Trinidad’s former prime minister Patrick Manning has been released from hospital. He was released yesterday after suffering a seizure early last week.
In a brief statement posted on his Facebook page, Mr Manning, 66, said he was at home resting and would be liming later on Saturday.
Mr Manning, Trinidad’s longest serving parliamentarian, had been taken to the San Fernando General Hospital, three weeks after he returned from the United States where he had been seeking medical treatment for a mild stroke that left him partly paralysed.
There had been unconfirmed reports that Mr Manning, who lost the 2010 general election he called almost two years in advance, had died.
But in his statement Saturday he said he wanted to "quell the rumours.”
