Knights defeat Slayers

Urban Knights defeated St. George’s Slayers in a nail biting finish last night at the National Stadium Court in the KFC National Basketball League.



The Knights won 88 to 85 in overtime after the scores were locked at 71-71 at the end of full time.



It was Urban Knight final game in the round. They lead the standings with 44 points, seven ahead of Port Royal Bulls, which have a game in hand.



St. George’s Slayers ended the round with 33 points for a disappointed seventh place.



Javon Bailey led the scoring for Urban Knights with 19 points and six rebounds. O’Neil Mundle 18 points with 15 rebounds and Omar Barnes 18 points supported him.



St. George’s Slayers’ Howard Daley had a game high 22 points, with 15 rebounds.



In the Jamaica Amateur Basketball Association’s female league, Braves Smilers had a 62 to 53 victory over Metro Belles.



Both Leagues continue this weekend.
