PM Spencer says no election goodies
The prime minister of Antigua and Barbuda Baldwin Spencer has warned citizens not to expect an election budget with goodies.
He made the comments while speaking at a pre-budget national consultation organised by the Ministry of Finance and the Economy on Tuesday.
According to a report in the Antigua Sun, Spencer said that there was absolutely no basis for anyone to expect the government to deliver an election budget next month.
He said the government and the nation must start tightening their belts, since the economic climate in the world was becoming increasingly unstable.
According to the prime minister Antiguans should be prepared to work with survival strategies that will enable them to deal with the turbulent financial waters that are threatening to engulf the world.
