Brigitte Foster-Hylton, a two-time World Athletics Championships 100-metres hurdles medalist, has decided against retiring from the sport.

Foster-Hylton, who won silver and bronze at the 2003 and 2005 World Championships, respectively, announced after the 100m hurdles final in Beijing that it was her last year.

However, Foster-Hylton, who won the World Cup gold in 2006 and silver in 2002, said she was disappointed with her Beijing performance and made the wrong decision to retire.

Foster-Hylton said she put things into perspective and decided that she owed it to herself to at least give it another year.

She said she has her eyes set on the World Championships in Berlin next year.
