Arnett defeat Tivoli
Arnett Gardens secured its first points of the 2008 to 2009 Digicel Premier League season yesterday with a 1-0 victory over arch rivals Tivoli Gardens at the Anthony Spaulding Sports Complex.
The victory came following the appointment of former national player Fabian Davis as player/coach.
The 34 year old Davis replaced Jerome Waite on Tuesday with Arnett Gardens pointless after four games.
The all-important goal came from Roy Forbes in the 50th minute.
Meanwhile, defending champions Portmore United secured a 1-0 away victory over new comers Meadheaven United at Constant Spring field. Tremaine Stewart scored the only goal in the second half.
As a result of the victory, Portmore United now moved to joint second place on 10 points with Waterhouse, which lost 3-2 to Village United in a late game at Jarrett Park in Montego Bay.
Harbour View lead the standings with 11 points following a 1-1 draw with Reno at Frome Sports Complex in Westmoreland.
Over at the Spanish Town Prison Oval, visitors Boys’ Town came from two goals down to draw 2-2 with Rivoli United, while hosts St Georges and Sporting Central battled to a 1-1 draw at Lynch Park in Portland.
