St Vincent teachers strike

Teachers in St Vincent will continue a second day of industrial action today to protest against the government\'s public sector reclassification project.
The exercise re-grades posts in the public service, and is due to be implemented this year.
The dispute relates to a consultant\'s report, which recommended that 13 per cent be paid on the midpoint of salary scales.
The teachers rejected the government\'s final offer of seven per cent at the midpoint, and are demanding ten per cent.
President of the teacher\'s union Joy Matthews said she hopes a resolution can be reached during talks with the labour minister.
