A man accused of attacking a policeman with a cutlass was fined $950 when he appeared before a San Fernando magistrate yesterday.
Neville Simon, 49, was accused of kicking, cursing and running away from the officer when he was being arrested.
Simon pleaded to be fined for the offences and for time to pay the money.
He told the court that he had spent all his money on Christmas groceries.
