A labour dispute is now brewing at a tourist resort project in the Turks and Caicos Islands after it was stalled following the failure of a major US bank, Lehman Brothers.

Hundreds of Chinese laborers on the project have reportedly clashed with their Israeli employers over payments.

According to Turks and Caicos Premier Michael Misick, the Chinese workers have not been paid for several weeks and are demanding back wages.

Mr. Misick said his government plans to intervene in the dispute.
