Jamaica cricket team gets new captain

Tamar Lambert has been confirmed as captain of Jamaica’s senior cricket team for the upcoming Regional One Day competition starting on November 14.



The Ruddy Williams-led selection panel made the announcement today.



Lambert was given the job as West Indies captain Chris Gayle will be on tour with the Caribbean side in Dubai during the competition.



Jamaica will also be without Jerome Taylor, Daren Powell, Brendan Nash, Nikita Miller, Xavier Marshall, Shawn Findlay and Carlton Baugh, who will also be touring with the West Indies squad.



Jamaica will begin the defense of their title against Guyana on November 15 at a venue to be announced.
