Published:Tuesday | February 12, 2013 | 9:49 AM

Environment Secretary Owen Paterson will meet Food Standards Agency and food industry representatives later today to discuss the horsemeat crisis.

Paterson told the House of Commons yesterday that it appeared criminal activity had been at the heart of the scandal.

Horsemeat has been detected in several processed meat products.

The summit will be the environment secretary's second meeting with the Food Standards Agency and members of the food industry in a matter of days.
