Jamaica’s women rugby team is now travelling to Nassau, Bahamas for the Caribbean Championships and the International Rugby Board’s World Cup Sevens Qualifier.

The squad departed this morning and will be attempting to defend its Caribbean title and qualifies for the Sevens Rugby Tournament, which will take place in Dubai in March.

The qualifiers, for teams in the North America West Indies Rugby Association, will be held over the weekend.

However, there is still uncertainty surrounding the departure of the men’s team for Bahamas because of financial difficulties.

The men’s team has until tomorrow to depart for the qualifiers.

The Guyana team will arrive in Jamaica today before leaving for the qualifiers on Friday.
