The voting to decide a new president of the Jamaica Cricket Association (JCA) takes place this afternoon at the Jamaica Pegasus Hotel in New Kingston.

The Annual General Meeting begins at 3 p.m. with the election being the final item on the agenda.

Just over 100 delegates from across the island will vote to decide whether former West Indies and Jamaica captain Courtney Walsh or current vice-president, Paul Campbell should lead the JCA for the next two years.

The post of president was made vacant, following the decision of Jackie Hendriks not to seek re-election after serving for more than 10 years.

Both presidential candidates have already named their slates.

On the Campbell slate are current second vice president Cleveland Kedoo, general secretary Milton Hamilton and Hugh Perry, who will each be seeking to retain their posts, while treasurer Dave Cameron, will vie for the office of first vice president.

The other members of Campbell’s team, Major Radcliffe Daley and Malden Miller, are newcomers, and will be seeking the posts of treasurer and assistant general secretary.

Walsh’s slate includes current assistant general secretary Ian Brown, who will be seeking to retain his post, Lynden Wright, first vice president, Fitz Harris, second vice president, Dennis Gordon, general secretary, Courtney Daley, treasurer and Maurice Clarke, assistant treasurer.
