Gastroenteritis alert issued in Barbados

Barbados health authorities have issued an alert for gastroenteritis.



They say there have received reports of a number of severe cases, particularly among people over the age of 60.



However, no official figures were provided.



At the same time, the authorities say surveillance for the infection has not detected an increase beyond what is expected so far this year.
