Minimum wage raise in St Kitts and Nevis?

St. Kitts and Nevis Prime Minister Denzil Douglas has told workers that they could be taking home bigger pay cheques in the near future.

He says the first draft of a review of the minimum wage is now before the Cabinet.

Douglas says the Ministry of Labour has been directed to begin the process of consultations with a view to increasing the minimum wage so that minimum wage earners can better cope with the rising cost of living.

Minimum wage earners in St Kitts currently receive EC$250 for a forty-hour week.
