Former Premier of the Cayman Islands, McKeeva Bush has reiterated his innocence after being formally charged with two counts of misconduct yesterday.

The 57-year-old will appear in court next month, to face four counts of Breach of Trust by a member of the Legislative Assembly and five counts of theft.

However, he insists he has done nothing illegal and will defend each of the charges.

Bush says he will continue as the leader of the United Democratic Party and the party has vowed its support to its leader.

The former premier has stated that the charges are meant to affect his re-election campaign.
