Doctors have recommended bed rest for Prime Minister of Trinidad and Tobago Kamla Persad Bissessar who is suffering from the common cold.

A statement from the prime minister’s office gave no indication as to how long she would stay home.

However the prime minister has extended best wishes to all citizens on the occasion of Spiritual Shouter Baptist Liberation Day, Easter and the celebration of Phagwa.

Trinidad and Tobago will celebrate Spiritual Shouter Baptiste Liberation Day with a public holiday on Saturday and is also observing Phagwa or Holi, the Indo-Caribbean Hindu celebration of the New Year.
