GUYANA: Man held in connection with visa scam

The Guyana police have detained a man in connection with a visa scam being run by people posing as United States embassy officials.



The police say the unidentified man had been arrested at Triumph, East Coast Demerara yesterday and that he had been found with travel documents and monies collected from a victim of the scam.



The police are now urging anyone who has fallen victim to the scam to contact them in order to assist with the investigations.
