Caricom fund gets going

Jamaican diplomat Lorne McDonnough has taken up duties as the first chief executive officer of the CARICOM Development Fund.
The fund is aimed at helping the region\'s most vulnerable economies prepare for competition within the single trading market.
Contributions to the fund have reportedly reached 60 million dollars.
However member countries are aiming at raising four times that amount.
Mr. McDonnough, who is a former Jamaican trade negotiator, is based in Barbados.
