DaCosta Cup continues

Action will resume in the Inter-Secondary Schools Sports Association/Digicel/Pepsi rural area daCosta Cup football competition this afternoon with the first set of games in the inter-zone round.

The 24 qualifiers are divided into six groups of four teams each. The group winners and the two best second-place teams will advance to the competition’s quarterfinal round.

The Group One match at Frome Sports Ground between newly-crowned Ben Francis Knockout champions St James High and Frome should generate a lot of interest.

St James are highly fancied to take the rural double after thrashing Dinthill 4-0 in the Ben Francis final on Saturday.

The St James High, Frome game is scheduled to kick off at 3 p.m. and is the second game of a double-header at the venue.

Godfrey Stewart will play Cedric Titus in the opening game at 1 p.m.

Dinthill will also be in action this afternoon when they take on Annotto Bay High at Clembhard’s Park at 1 p.m.

St Mary Technical High and Bog Walk will face off in the second game at that venue, starting at 3 p.m.
