PCB bans veteran batsman
The Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) has banned Mohammad Yousuf from the national team after the veteran batsman rejoined the unsanctioned Indian Cricket League (ICL) yesterday.
PCB Director of Cricket Operations, Zakir Khan, said Yousuf is banned with immediate effect to play for Pakistan.
Yousuf is also banned for playing in Pakistan.
Yousuf was also cut from the 15-man squad for the three limited-overs internationals against the West Indies in Abu Dhabi from November 12 to 16.
Batsman Khalid Latif will replace him.
Yousuf travelled to New Delhi on Monday, hours after the team for the West Indies series was announced, without informing the PCB officials or team management.
Other high-profile Pakistani ICL players who have been banned are ex-test captain Inzamam-ul-Haq, all-rounders Azhar Mahmood and Abdul Razzaq and opening batsman Imran Farhat.
