Former WI batsmen blast Super Series
Former West Indies batsmen Joey Carew and Suruj Ragoonath believe the Stanford Super Series will have little impact on helping to improve West Indies cricket.
Carew, a former West Indies chief selector, said while the financial benefits could not be questioned, he did not see the tournament being a development tool.
Ragoonath, who played his two Tests against Australia in 1999, says the tournament only offered a good pay for the players.
Carew and Ragoonath were speaking following the conclusion of the Super Series in Antigua, which saw the Stanford Superstars beat England in the US$20 million winner-takes-all 20/20 game.
The 11 players, who featured in the match received US$1million each for their efforts with the remainder of the squad sharing another million.
