Tropical Depression #2 forms off Belizean coast
The US-based National Hurricane Center says the Atlantic season's second tropical depression formed yesterday off the coast of Belize.
Forecasters say it is expected to bring as much as five inches of rain to parts of Belize, Guatemala and northern Honduras.
Tropical depression number two is not a threat to Jamaica.
Some weakening is expected after the depression moves over Belize but it could strengthen today if the center emerges near the Gulf of Mexico.
Forecasters say the several inches of rain could cause flash flooding, especially in mountainous areas, but no coastal watches or warnings have been issued.
