Barnes dismisses report linking him to Watford job
New Jamaican head coach John Barnes has denied reports out of England linking him to the position of manager for Championship team Watford Football Club.
The reports out of England came less than a week after the former England and Liverpool star took up his role with the Jamaica Football Federation.
Barnes, who is currently in the Cayman Islands with Jamaica’s senior team for a one-week training camp, says Watford Football Club has not contacted him regarding the job of manager.
The job at Watford Football Club became vacant this week following the departure of Aidy Boothroyd.
The reports out of England also linked Barnes’ former Watford teammate, Luther Blissett, to the coaching job, as well as the current caretaker boss Malky Mackay and Stan Ternent, who was axed by Huddersfield Town on Tuesday.
