A bay colt from lot 103 fetched a record price of $2.7 million yesterday at the annual Thoroughbred Yearling Sales.
The Sales took place in the official car park at Caymanas Park.
The colt, an offspring of Image maker out of De Barel Come, was purchased by Barbadian Elias Haloute.
He was foaled on January 6, 2007 and bred by Argyll Farms Limited.
The previous record was held by Classy Boy Pete, which was purchased for $2 million a few years ago.
Earlier, a chestnut colt by Region of merit out of classic winner PW’s Choice and bred by YS 1955 Limited equaled the $2 million record, before it was broken.
The chestnut colt was purchased by trainer Andrew Nunes on behalf of a client.
