Don't shy away from WTO, says diplomat

A senior Antigua and Barbuda diplomat is urging Caribbean countries to stand up for their rights in dealing with matters before the World Trade Organization (WTO).



Trade Ambassador Colin Murdoch noted that the Caribbean right is also looking at whether the United States should be taken to the (WTO) Dispute Settlement Body over rum.



He said it is not a matter Caribbean countries should shy away from.



Antigua and Barbuda has gone to the WTO with its gaming dispute against the United States and the WTO has awarded it the right to target US services, copyrights and trade-marks in retaliation for its online betting ban.
