Grenadan Opposition Leader Dr Keith Mitchell has called for the government to return a diplomatic passport issued to him while he was the country’s Prime Minister.
He says the passport contains valid visas of places he visited, and he had expected that the visas would be placed in his new passport when the old one was cancelled.
Instead, he says the authorities are refusing to give him his passport.
Foreign Affairs Minister Peter David says that all passports, whether regular, official, or diplomatic, remain the property of the Government of Grenada.
He adds that it is not mandatory for passports to be returned after they are cancelled.
