The police in Guyana said they have made a major dent in criminal gang activities following the recent killing and capture of suspected members of a violent gang.
The police say the suspects, who were captured during an attempted robbery, were involved in a number of other crimes.
These include the massacre of 12 people including three policemen in the town of Bartica last February.
Acting Police Commissioner, Henry Green, said the security forces destroyed one of the more organised criminal gangs.
