Brazilian President Luis Inacio Lula da Silva wants Caribbean countries to take a tougher stand against the sexual exploitation of children.
Mr. da Silva said the problem has transcended class, and involves abuse of media, including the internet.
Dominica\'s community development minister, Lorraine Bannis-Roberts, said sexual abuse of children is not as prevalent in the Caribbean as in other parts of the world.
She said the region is not immune to the practice, and must take appropriate steps against it.
