Claro signs multi million dollar football sponsorship

New telecommunication provider, Claro last night signed a four year multi-million dollar agreement with the Kingston and St Andrew Football Association (KSAFA) to sponsor its leagues.



The announcement came at a Press Conference held at Knutsford Court Hotel in New Kingston.



The deal is reported to worth a whopping $200 million over the sponsorship period.



Commercial Director of Claro, Noel Esty refused last night to confirm or deny the reported financial investment.



60 percent of the sponsorship will benefit the clubs. Referees’ fees will account for 20 percent, promotion 10 percent, trophies and awards function 5 percent and administration cost 15 percent.



The major KSAFA competition, the Claro/Super League kicks off tomorrow with six games, scheduled to start at 3 p.m.



Claro will also be title sponsors for the Major, Syd Bartlett, Under 20, Under 17 and Under 15 Leagues.



The financial help from the sponsors will also fund a women’s League and the President’s Cup has been renamed the Claro/KSAFA Champion League.
