Defending champions Haiti were sent packing in spite of a win over Cuba, while Guadeloupe earned the last semi-final spot as the group stage of the 2008 Digicel Caribbean Championships concluded last night.

In the last Group ‘B’ games at Jarrett Park, Guadeloupe played to a 2-2 draw with Antigua and Barbuda to emerge as runners-up to group winners Cuba. Guadeloupe ended on four points.

Haiti, which had earlier beaten Cuba 1-0 also ended with four points but were edged out because of an inferior scoring record.

In the semi-finals at the National Stadium in Kingston on Thursday, Guadeloupe will face hosts Jamaica and Cuba play Grenada.

The final takes place on Sunday.

All four semi-finalists qualify for the 2009 CONCACAF Gold Cup in the United States in June.
