Haiti receives US$2.5m from the IMF
Haiti has received another drawdown of US$2.5 million from the International Monetary Fund (IMF).
The disbursement follows the completion of the seventh review of Haiti’s performance under its extended credit facility arrangement with the IMF.
It brings the total disbursement to the earthquake-ravaged island to just over US$60 million.
Deputy managing director of the IMF, Naoyuki Shinohara says despite difficult circumstances, Haiti’s economic performance has been satisfactory.
Shinohara says the reform measures and policies that have been implemented have helped to maintain macroeconomic stability and advance structural reforms.
