Rain, no game
Jamaica suffered another setback in their attempt to win the inaugural Regional Under-17 Cricket Championship in Trinidad and Tobago after their fourth-round match against Guyana was abandoned yesterday because of rain.
The match was scheduled to take place at Honeymoon Park.
The Jamaican have won two matches from four games.
Meanwhile, hosts Trinidad and Tobago crushed Leeward Islands by nine wickets at Wilson Road to lift the title with one round of games remaining.
T&T have moved to an unassailable eight points from four consecutive games.
Scores in that game: Leeward Islands 64 all out off 34 overs, T&T 65 for one off 13 overs.
Over at Syne Vill, the match between Barbados and Windward Islands ended prematurely because of rain.
Barbados were 173 for seven off 42 point 3 overs when the rain came.
In the final round of matches slated for tomorrow, Jamaica and Windward Islands will face off at Invaders Ground, while the Leeward Islands will meet Guyana at the Queen’s Park Oval.
