The Guyana Power and Light Company has embarked on a campaign to disconnect consumers with illegal electricity connections amid allegations of collusion between residents and staff.

The light and power company said that the disconnection exercise is part of a monthly routine, targeting different areas where customers are seeking to illegally obtain electricity.
