Jamaica fail to win TT title

Highly fancied Jamaica last night failed to win the men’s team title at the 2008 Caribbean Region Table Tennis Federation championship at the University of Technology auditorium.



The Jamaicans, who were unbeaten going into the gold medal match on the second day of competition lost 3-1 to Barbados.



Jamaica were searching for their first team title in 10 years.



Jamaica’s women’s team also lost the team title, going down 3-0 to their lone rivals Trinidad and Tobago.



Meanwhile, the preliminary matches in the doubles are now taking place.



In an all-Jamaican clash earlier today, Michael Cai and Karem Flowers defeated the pair of Peter Moo Young and Christopher Marsh 3-1.
