Mosquito disease spreads in Antigua & barbuda

Antigua & Barbuda's health ministry says three more cases of Chikungunya Fever have been confirmed in the country by the Caribbean Public Health Agency (CARPHA).



This brings the number of confirmed cases in the country to four as of yesterday.



The chikungunya virus is transmitted to people by mosquitoes.

The most common symptoms of chikungunya virus infections are fever and joint pains.



The US Center for Disease Control and Prevention says there is no vaccine to prevent chikungunya or medicine to treat the infection.
