Six schoolboys named in Under 20 squad
Six schoolboys were yesterday named in a 25-man Under-20 squad to continue preparation for the final stage of the Caribbean Football Union qualifiers, which takes place in St Vincent and the Grenadines from January 7 to 14, 2009.
Among the six are St Georges College attacking player Shamar Shelton and Jamaica College midfielder Deandre Brown, both of whom are getting their first opportunity to compete for a national age group team.
First string goalkeeper Andre Blake of Clarendon College, defender Leaunghn Williams of Lennon High, forwards Andre Steele of Bridgeport and McKauly Tulloch of Kingston College complete the list of schoolboys.
The squad will go into camp on Monday, December 22 until Wednesday, December 24.
Following a brief break for Christmas, the players will return to camp on Saturday, December 27 where they will remain until they depart for the tournament on Wednesday, January 7, 2009.
The Young Reggae Boyz are drawn with the hosts St Vincent and the Grenadine, Dominican Republic and Haiti.
